complete regulations for importing used cars

According to the latest news, the Islamic Council approved importing of used cars in a public meeting today (Monday, June 31). This bill, which is a two-urgent bill to add articles to the law on the organization of the automobile industry related to the import of used cars, will be approved and implemented with 212 votes in favor, 4 votes against and 3 abstentions with a total of 226 representatives present in the meeting.

Car production lowers car prices

Ruhollah Abbaspour, while explaining the generalities of the used car import bill, said: Now the car industry has two problems: cars and the finished price, and to improve the quality of the car, the finished price and global competition with the car. The industry should take over the production of cars.

The Committee of Industries and Mines Commission of the Islamic Council stated: The two car manufacturers in the country consider the market as a monopoly, but with the production of cars, the domestic car manufacturer can no longer supply low-quality cars and has to pay. Paying attention to improving the quality and reducing the price of cars.

He stated: “Serious action must be taken to protect the consumer, and with the approval of the government’s bill, the production of 5-year-old cars with good quality and cheap price will be realized, which will affect the quality and price of domestic products.”

With the production of second-hand cars, it is used less

In the continuation of this meeting, Mustafa Taheri, the head of the Parliament’s Industries and Mines Commission, said: We are in Egypt for used cars. Parliament and the government entered the car market to regulate imports.

He continued: 15 European, Arab and American countries made used cars and this method is conventional. With the production of second-hand cars, it is consumed less and in a short period of time, you can see the traces of the car in the market.

Taheri clarified: Currently, the price of foreign cars is 8 times its price in the neighboring country, which can be managed by car production.

Used cars are not competitors of domestic products

Ali Akbar Karimi also said in front of the generalities of this bill: Since 1997, when we faced currency jumps and problems in this field, we also faced a decrease in car production, and this caused an imbalance in this market.

He continued: Of course, there has been a good growth in the field of car production in recent years, but it is still facing a significant increase in supply in this field, and it is necessary to regulate this market and create a balance. To create it in the production of second-hand cars, these cars are not competitors of domestic products, that’s why the car manufacturers have clearly stated that they have no objection to them.

The representative of Arak stated that this car had already been approved in the parliament and said: This has not happened with used cars. He is not responsible for this, on the other hand, the tastes of all consumers are not compatible with domestic production, and the volume of car production, especially used cars, will not have a negative effect on domestic production.

Other countries also import used cars

Hossein Ali Haj Deligani said in a request with this bill: Domestic car manufacturers show that despite all the opportunities that have been provided to them, the needs of the society are not in terms of the number and quality of customers and the current market. Worthy of the Iranian nation

He emphasized: With this bill, we allow the import of used cars, including buses, minibuses, passenger cars, and tractors, so that we can reach the car market and prevent the increase in car prices. Other countries also import used cars and create used cars in the car market.

We must break the taboo of banning car imports

Ali Babaei, the head of the call for labor achievements of the Islamic Council, also stated that in the field of automobiles, the taboo of rent, order, import ban, and monopoly must be broken in the country, and stated: In this regard, the monopoly of automobiles must be achieved. Of course, the parliament knows the difference between Lancruz and Peugeot 206, so it should not take one representative to the desert instead of all the parliament members to express the people’s opinions and demands in this area.

He stated: According to the supreme leader of the revolution, for this bill to be car-oriented, the parliament’s decision is necessary, cheap and high-quality products must be imported to meet the demands of low-income groups. In order to improve domestic production with other competitors, we must do this with the aim of improving and increasing the quality of domestic cars.
